Der australische Schauspieler Frederick Matthias Alexander entwickelte vor mehr als 100 Jahren eine Methode, die von seinen Mitstreitern nach seinem Tod  als "Die Alexander-Technik" bezeichnet wurde.

Weltweit wird von etwa 3000 Lehrerinnen und Lehrern die Alexander-Technik unterrichtet.

Auf dem "Talent Campus" der Berlinale finden regelmässig Alexander-Technik-Workshops für junge Schauspieler statt.
